LONDON, July 7 / WAM / British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced today his resignation from the leadership of the ruling Conservative Party.
Johnson said – in a press conference held at the government headquarters in the British capital, “London” – that the timetable for selecting a new party leader will be announced next week, indicating that he will continue as prime minister until a new party leader is chosen.
He added: Today, I appointed an acting government, and I will continue my work until a new leader is elected.
