Emirates News Agency – Japanese stocks rise at the close of trading

Abu Dhabi, August 3 / WAM / Japanese stock market indices rose at the close of trading today, with the Nikkei index rising to compensate for some of its losses in the previous session, which was the largest in 3 weeks.

The Nikkei index closed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, up by 0.53%, or 147.17 points, to reach 27741.9 points, while the broader Topix index increased by 0.27%, equivalent to 5.28 points, to close at 1930.77 points.

On the other hand, the performance of Chinese stocks varied, as the “ESI” Composite Index on the Shanghai Stock Exchange decreased by 22.59 points, or 0.71%, to close at 3,163.67 points, while the Chinese Hang Seng Index rose in late trading by 0.27%, equivalent to 50.59 points, to reach the level of 19737.67 points.

The Bombay Synx index fell in mid-trading by 170.7 points, or 0.29%, to reach 5,7969.92 points.
