Emirates News Agency – Manchester City extends Mahrez’s contract until 2025

LONDON, July 15, 2020 (WAM) — Manchester City Football Club announced today, Friday, the extension of the contract of Algerian player Riyad Mahrez until the end of June 2025.

The club explained on its website that Mahrez is one of the most important elements of the team since his move to the team in 2018 from Leicester City.

Mahrez contributed greatly to Manchester City winning the English Premier League title 3 times, as well as more than one title in the English League Cup and the FA Cup, in addition to the team reaching the Champions League final.

Mahrez, who played 189 matches with the team, scored 63 goals and assisted 45 goals for his teammates, said: “I am very happy to sign the new contract. I enjoyed every minute I spent with the team. It is a great honor for me to be in this amazing club.”
