World capitals, September 14 / WAM / The teams of Real Madrid, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica and Napoli continued their strong start in the group stage of the European Champions League, and each of them won their second victory today, “Wednesday”, during the second round of the group stage matches.
Real Madrid, the defending champion, defeated Leipzig 2-0 to lead Group F, which also saw Shakhtar Donetsk tied with Celtic 1-1.
While Manchester City was well-deserved at the top of its group through a precious 2-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund, to raise its score to 6 points, while Dortmund’s balance froze at 3 points in second place in Group G, which also witnessed a negative draw with Copenhagen with Seville.
And Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica continued their struggle for the top of Group H, with the first victory over Maccabi Haifa 3-1 and the second over Juventus 2-1.
In the rest of the matches of this round today, Napoli beat Rangers 3-0 in Group A, Milan beat Dinamo Zagreb 3-1, and Chelsea drew with Red Bull Salzburg 1-1 in Group E.
