4:28 p.m .: To extend nuclear power plants or not?
Berlin must decide on Monday the possible extension of the duration of operation of its nuclear power plants, which would constitute an important political reversal, in particular for the Greens in power, caused by the energy crisis. Germany, which had so far said goodbye to its three plants still in operation at the end of this year, might be forced to postpone this decision, according to several media.
The Minister of the Economy, the ecologist Robert Habeck will present Monday at 6 p.m. local time the results of an expertise, called “stress-test”, carried out by the four managers of the German electricity network, 50Herz Transmission, Amprion, TenneT TSO and TransnetBW.
A possible extension might be announced in stride.
