Joplin, Missouri – The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with its partners, is set to launch a new initiative aimed at fostering leadership and confidence among women throughout the four-state region. The inaugural BOLD (Building Opportunities for Leadership Development) Women’s Summit will take place on Thursday, November 18, 2025, at James River Church, located at 1850 S. Maiden Lane in Joplin.
This all-day summit is meticulously designed to provide women with practical strategies for both personal and professional growth, offering a dynamic mix of keynote speeches, networking sessions, and focused breakout sessions. The event is expected to draw participants from Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. The summit’s program is structured around three distinct tracks, carefully selected based on feedback from local women identifying essential areas for development. The BOLD Women’s Summit will host several nationally recognized speakers and local leaders. Dr. Rachel Oblon, a PhD in Organizational Leadership, will lead a discussion on imposter syndrome and the complexities of identity. Alissa Owsley, co-founder of LifeWork, will present strategies for enhancing emotional intelligence, communication skills, and building strong relationships. michelle “Mo” Holloman, founder of main Character Coach, will challenge conventional notions of success and advocate for a more sustainable approach to achieving goals.
“We envision this summit as a catalyst for positive change, igniting potential and fostering connections across diverse industries and generations,” stated Lauren Hall, Director of Member Success at the Joplin Chamber. “Our goal is to provide women – and men – with actionable tools and strategies to thrive in their personal and professional lives.”
The event will commence with networking and breakfast at 7:30 am, followed by keynote addresses and breakout sessions throughout the day. A group lunch will provide further opportunities for networking and collaboration. The summit will conclude at 4:30 pm,with an invitation to continue the conversation at the Chamber’s business After Hours,hosted at the Roxy Event Center.
BOLD Experience Passes are available for $100 and can be purchased online. Sponsorship opportunities are also available, allowing individuals or organizations to support women’s attendance at the summit.Both Chamber members and nonmembers are encouraged to participate.
