Energodialog 2025 Conference: Focusing on Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Mobility in Latvia
On October 17, 2025, Energodialog 2025 will be held in the Creative Quarter “Zeit,” a conference bringing together state and municipal representatives, industry experts, and practitioners. The focus will be on two crucial climate topics for Latvia: the energy efficiency of buildings and sustainable mobility. The event is an opportunity to learn about current policy plans, share experiences, and discover solutions already implemented by Latvian companies, organizations, and municipalities.
Representatives from the ministry of Economics, the Ministry of Climate and energy, and the Transport sectors will present in the morning session, outlining the directions of Latvian and European policy.A discussion, “How to achieve energy efficiency and climate goals in Latvia?” will follow, featuring experts and representatives from the ministries, moderated by journalist Gundar Reeders.
participants will have the opportunity to choose between two parallel sessions.
Building Sector: the Role of One-Stop Shops
The building sector session, “The role of one-stop shop in the renovation of buildings: necessity and possible models,” will examine various approaches in Latvia, including municipal experiences, and address practical implementation and long-term coordination issues for citizen support mechanisms.
Transport Session: Option Fuels in Vidzeme
The transport session, “Alternative fuel in Vidzeme: electrification, hydrogen and biomethane in transport,” will analyze the investment habitat for greening and innovation, the growth of sustainable mobility and infrastructure, the challenges of the regulatory framework, and the potential of hydrogen pilot projects in Latvia.
The conference will conclude wiht a Session Summary and Networking session, allowing participants to consolidate key insights and strengthen cooperation.
This event is open to municipal professionals, industry professionals, public administration staff, policymakers, energy efficiency and transport experts, building managers, project promoters, and anyone interested in sustainable development in Latvia. Participation is free, but requires registration at https://ej.uz/energodialogs2025. Registration is open until October 14, or until capacity is reached.
The full conference program is available on the Vidzeme Planning Region website: https://ej.uz/energodialogsprogramma.
With this conference, we want to promote targeted dialog on how climate neutrality targets turn into practical action – both in building renovation and transport. The program is thoughtfully designed, offering not only the policy context but also practical examples, professionals’ experiences, and enabling connections between those who work on these solutions daily.
Eva Meyer, Project Manager of Vidzeme Planning region
The conference is organized by the Vidzeme Planning Region and supported by the Interreg Baltic Sea Region projects Renovate and HyTruck, and also the Interreg Europe projects RESONANCE and SPOT, and the European Regional Development Fund.
