Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Users of the “X” platform (formerly Twitter) interacted with video clips showing what Egyptian Essam El-Hadary did with the players of the Syrian national team, during the team’s match with its Iranian counterpart, on the grounds of Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, on Wednesday, Within the second round of the Asian Cup finals.
Al-Hadary, who is responsible for training the Syrian national team’s goalkeepers, appeared to motivate and support the players, in addition to directing goalkeeper Ahmed Madaniyah throughout the course of the match.
The former Egyptian national team goalkeeper also appeared calling on the Syrian fans in the stands to encourage and support their country’s national team.
The Syrian team lost on penalties, 3/5, to its Iranian competitor, following the end of regular and extra time in a 1/1 draw, bringing the latter to the quarter-finals in the Yellow Continent Championship, held on Qatari soil.
