With the entry into force of the 11th package of EU sanctions, it will be impossible to travel to the territory of the EU countries, including Finland, for trailers and semi-trailers with Russian numbers. The official announcement has been posted on site Finnish customs on 23 June.
It is noted that the ban will also apply to trailers and semi-trailers that are registered outside of Russia.
“We will start applying the ban as soon as it comes into force, and we will return all cargo trailers and semi-trailers with Russian numbers back to Russia,” the Finnish customs press service quoted the head of the control department, Sami Rakshit, as saying.
According to the Finnish side, the ban will affect approximately 40 percent of commercial road transport that goes through the eastern border of Suomi.
A few days of backlash are given to those cargo trailers and semi-trailers that are now on the territory of the European Union. For them, the travel ban will be in effect from June 30 this year.
