Eugene Worlds: Fraser-Pryce power 5, last minute breakdown for an Olympic champion and two Belgian eliminations, everything you should not miss from the 3rd night

New American hat-trick for men! Olympic champion and world record holder in the shot put Ryan Crouser beat his compatriots last night Joe Kovacs et Josh Awotunde.

Crouser managed on the 5th try a throw at 22.94m, the 10th best in history, the best ever at the Worlds, following being put under pressure by Kovacs (22.89m). Awotunde threw at 22.29m.

Kovacs was crowned world champion in 2015 and then in 2019 in a historic competition where he edged Crouser by just one centimeter.

This is the first world title for Crouser, who at the age of 29 completes his record with two Olympic golds (2016 and 2021) and the world record (23.37 m).

If American men dominate the shot put discipline, American women dominate the pole vault! The Olympic champion Katie Nageotte won ahead of Sandi Morris to offer a US double.

Nageotte, 31, overturned the competition with a successful jump of 4.85m on the first try, the best world performance of the year, enough to beat her compatriot, who crossed the same bar but on the 2nd try.

The Australian Nina Kennedy won the bronze medal with a bar crossed at 4.80 m.
