What a surprise! The Swedes Ahman/Hellvig beat the superior team in beach volleyball, Mol/Sorum from Norway, in the semi-finals and now meet the Czechs Perusic/Schweiner in the final. In the first semi-final, they easily defeated the Poles Bryl/Losiak 2:0.
In the game for third place, the Norwegians didn’t let anything burn. Mol/Sorum clearly beat Bryl/Losiak 2:0 (21:16,21:17).
Bronze to favorites
Bronze instead of gold: The Norwegians Anders Mol and Christian Sørum – big favorites before the tournament – didn’t give their opponents from Poland a chance and dictated the game from the first minute. Even if there isn’t the hoped-for fifth EM gold, they won’t go completely empty-handed with bronze. Michał Bryl and Bartosz Łosiak end up in thankless fourth place.
