2023-05-21 12:01:17

The European Commission has raised its growth outlook for 2023 in the euro zone. But France is lagging behind. Eurozone GDP should thus grow by 1.1% in 2023, i.e. 0.8 points more than the forecasts published in autumn 2022. For France, the improvement is only 0.3 full stop, at +0.7%! To be compared with the increase of 0.9 points, to +1.9% in Spain and to +1.2% in Italy. German growth, it goes from – 0.6% to + 0.2%, a gain of 0.8 points – but with a virtual stagnation this year of activity. On the price front, we are also seeing a slight easing in the euro zone (to 5.8% expected for 2023 versus 6.1% estimated a few months ago). France is also once morest the trend, even if inflation remains weaker over the year than in the other countries (it will be 5.5% versus 4.4% expected in the fall).
