Eurostat: Inflation in Greece at 3.7% in December – 2024-03-13 23:23:22

Inflation moved upwards for Greece in December as well as for the eurozone.

According to the official data of Eurostat, in our country inflation increased to 3.7%, while in the Eurozone it increased to 2.9% compared to November.

Inflation in Greece in November had reached 3% (from 3.8% in October) while in the eurozone it had fallen to 2.4% from 2.9%.

According to protothema, already the measurements announced at the national level in key economies of the region show an acceleration in price growth, thus further clouding the forecasts for the next moves of the European Central Bank in relation to interest rates.

Of course, Greece is not excluded from the “framework” of revaluations. Despite the progress of the last months of 2023 in the slowdown of the general index – which is estimated by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance to continue – it still faces particularly high prices in a number of sectors and products, first and foremost the food that recorded up 7.7% in November.
