“Evacuation of Indians and Foreign Nationals from Conflict-Ridden Sudan: Saudi Arabia Takes Charge”

The evacuation of people including Indians continues under the leadership of Saudi Arabia from Sudan where the internal conflict is raging. The Saudi ships carrying Indians including people will continue in the coming days. Indians will be flown home from Jeddah

The first ship arrived at Jeddah port following Saturday followingnoon. There were 50 Saudi citizens and other nationalities in the cup. Many more ships arrived.

Indians are also among those who came to rescue. So far, 91 Saudi nationals and around 66 people of various nationalities have been brought to Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Apart from Saudi and India, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Egypt, Tunisia, Pakistan, Bulgaria, Bangladesh, Philippines, Canada and Burkina Faso were also rescued and brought to Jeddah.

Saudi Arabia is preparing to provide all necessary infrastructure and travel facilities for foreign nationals who have arrived in Jeddah.

Two Air Force planes are in Jeddah to take Indians back home. Although it was announced that they would run a direct service between Jeddah and Sudan, the situation turned out to be unfavorable. Accommodation facilities are also provided for Indians under the consulate in Jeddah.
