At the end of the 1990s, a Saudi Arabian prince built a hotel on a lake in the Salzkammergut for an exclusive group of guests, namely his family. In order to build the villa on a meadow with a lake view, it was necessary to rezone it from green to building land with a special tourism operation. For this, the community received a one-off five million schillings, the equivalent of around 364,000 euros, and an additional 500,000 schillings (36,336.42 euros) annually – ultimately even 50,000 euros, adjusted for inflation.
