Abu Dhabi, October 19 / WAM / Ittihad Kalba defeated Sharjah 3-2 in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Football Cup today, Thursday, at Sharjah Club Stadium.
The two teams are expected to meet in the return match to determine the identity of the team that qualifies for the next round.
Daniel Bessa, Andres Fomberger, and Philip Case scored for Ittihad Kalba, while Majid Sorour and Sebastian Tigali scored for Sharjah.
In another match in the same round, Al Ain defeated Al Nassr 2-0 at Al Maktoum Stadium in Dubai.
The double was scored by Abdelkarim Traoré and Matthews Palacios.
The two teams are also expected to face off in the return match at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium to decide the team that qualifies for the semi-finals.
