What was only behind the scenes rumors has now been confirmed. Well-informed sources within the National Rally, formerly the National Front, told Maghreb-intelligence that a high-level meeting has just been scheduled between RN and MAK executives.
It is in anticipation of the presidential elections of 2027 that several executives of the Movement for the self-determination of Kabylie had insisted with President Ferhat Mehenni to get closer to the National Rally of Marine Le Pen.
According to Maghreb-intelligence sources, MAK executives and activists are exasperated by the fact that the Kabyle cause is being sacrificed at the altar of Franco-Algerian relations.
The MAK has an appreciable pool of votes in France made up of Franco-Kabyles that it might mobilize in favor of the candidate best placed to win the next presidential elections which promise to be uncertain.
