Satisfied with the conditions for opening the next negotiation with Social Security on the price of consultations, the unions of independent doctors can count on a strong ally: their patients! For 64% of French people, their demand for an increase of at least 5 euros is “legitimate”, doctors should be “better paid for their work”. This is what emerges from an Elabe survey for “Les Echos” and the Institut Montaigne.

Despite some gaps, notably generational, those over 65 are clearly more favorable (79%), or even political (76% of Emmanuel Macron’s voters in the first round of the 2022 election, compared to 62% for those of Marine Le Pen), demand prevails in all categories of the population, underlines Elabe.
