This is his first personal exhibition in a Parisian institution. Sammy Baloji is at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, also at the invitation of the Festival d’Automne, for the Africa 2020 Season. Known for his work as a photographer, the Congolese artist from Lubumbashi presents this time an installation, the fruit of his research on the Kongo Kingdom in the 16th century and its political, religious and commercial exchanges with Portugal and the Vatican.
