One male worker was taken to the hospital from the scene, and was later confirmed dead.

At that time, the ladder leading to the underground facilities of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Waterworks had deteriorated and was being replaced.

The site is an area where houses and shops gather regarding 500 meters south of Funabori Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line.
