At least 10 people were injured when an explosion occurred near grain silos near the port of Derince in western Turkey.
Two of them are in critical condition and have been taken to hospital while the other eight are in stable condition, Archyde.com reports.
The exact cause of the explosion is not yet known, but it would be accidental according to the first analyzes.
“Initial assessments show that the explosion would have occurred due to the compression of wheat dust during its transfer from the ship to the silo, explains the governor of the Kocaeli region, Seddar Yavuz. But we continue to investigate all possible causes.”
The Ministry of Transport indicates that no boat was damaged in this incident.
