“Extra News” monitors the state’s efforts to improve mental health and combat addiction

Ahmed Al-Afyouni, a correspondent for the “Extra News” channel, revealed the state’s efforts to improve mental health and combat addiction.

He said during a telephone interview with the “Extra Today” program with Nancy Nour, broadcast on the “Extra News” channel, this evening, that the Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Hospital in Sohag Governorate is one of the most important and largest new medical edifices established by the Egyptian state in southern Upper Egypt.

He added that this hospital, of course, serves all the governorates of southern Upper Egypt, with a capacity of 90 beds and a total cost of 70 million pounds, and it is built on an area of ​​6,000 square meters.

For his part, Dr. Akram Ashour, director of the Mental Health Hospital in Sohag, indicated that the hospital is affiliated with the General Secretariat for Mental Health and Addiction Treatment, explaining that this large sector of the Ministry of Health includes 20 hospitals nationwide.
