“F24 National Dialogue: Claims for Ending Hyper-Presidentialism and Ensuring Separation of Powers.”

2023-05-28 02:05:22

Wednesday looms with a bipolar political atmosphere. Initially scheduled for Tuesday May 30, the national dialogue initiated by the Head of State Macky Sall has been postponed to Wednesday May 31. During this time, the platform of the living forces of the nation, F24, will hold its own national dialogue. The meeting will now be held in the Parcelles Assainies Unit 11 public garden, near the church.

The information note highlights the 4 main claims of the F24. First, it is required that no attempt at a third candidacy be considered in the future. Then, an effective separation of powers is called for in order to guarantee an adequate political balance. Moreover, hyper-presidentialism is strongly denounced and the participants call for an end to it. Finally, they demand that power be truly exercised by the “people, for the people”.
