New facial recognition e-gates coming up at Muscat airport The new e-gates will be implemented from this week. Both locals and foreigners will be able to enter Oman without showing a passport using the new gate.

Sheikh Ayman Al Houthi, CEO of Oman Airport, said that unlike the old e-gate, the new gates will be facial recognition. 18 such gates are installed in the arrival and departure sections. He said that many other technologies are also being set up at the airport.

From next week, locals and foreigners will be able to enter Oman without showing their passports using the new gate. But for those arriving in Oman on a visitor visa, the old procedures will be followed.
