Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Saudi club Ittihad Jeddah celebrated its Egyptian captain, Ahmed Hegazy, following achieving the Saudi Super Cup title at the expense of Al-Fayhaa, while former team player Fahd Al-Mawlid sent a message to the defender on this occasion.
Al-Ittihad Club published a tweet following the title was achieved, in which it said: “Captain Ahmed Hegazy, the Golden Commander No. 22 in the history of the Brigadier.”
Hijazi commented on the tweet, saying: “It is a great honor for me to be one of the captains of the ancient Al-Ittihad club, following great stars and legends.”
Al-Mawlid, who was once one of the most prominent stars of Al-Ittihad, wrote to Hegazy: “Congratulations, you monster, and you deserve it,” he said.
Al-Ittihad had achieved the Saudi Super title following defeating Al-Fayhaa in the final with two clean goals.
