Fair Selection Trials for Asian Games Wrestlers: Punjab Wrestling Association Urges Participation

New Delhi: The Punjab Wrestling Association has said that no wrestler should participate in the Asian Games without participating in the qualifying matches. Wrestling Association General Secretary R. S. said that not conducting the selection trial would be unfair to Jaskaran Singh. According to the letter given by Kundu.

The letter was given to Bhupender Singh Bajwa, the head of the Indian Olympic Association’s special committee that conducts the selection trials for the Asian Games. Jaskaran Singh is nominated by Punjab Wrestling for the 65 km freestyle category.

The letter has been released following the news that Bajrang Punia, who has participated in many international competitions for India, is competing in the 65 kg category this time too. Having won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, Poonia has also won medals for India at the World Championships.
