Kochi: Actor Jojo George Manaf Puthuvayil from Kalamassery has lodged a complaint with the Ernakulam RTO alleging that he was using two cars without following the law. According to the complaint, the security number plate was removed and a fancy number plate was attached to Jojo’s car.
Another car is Haryana registered. According to the complaint, the law required to register here for continuous use in Kerala has been violated. RTO PM Shebir said the Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector was tasked with investigating the first complaint. The second complaint was handed over to the Chalakudy RTO.
Youth Congress state secretary PY Shahjahan has also lodged a complaint alleging that actor Jojo George, who took to the streets to protest the Congress blockade, had violated the Kovid code of conduct by not wearing a mask and should be prosecuted under the Prevention of Infectious Diseases Act. DCP Aishwarya Dongre said complaints against Jojo would also be looked into and action would be taken if evidence was found.
Meanwhile, PG Joseph (47), a Congress activist from Thaikoodam, was arrested in connection with the beating of Jojo’s car. The charges are non-bailable. A case has been registered against 15 leaders, including former Kochi mayor Tony Chammini, and 50 people who can be identified. No case has been registered against Joju in the complaint filed by the Congress women leader.
