Far-Right Dutch Politician Thierry Baudet Attacked Again: Latest News and Updates

2023-11-20 17:36:06

Politician Thierry Baudet, leader of the far-right Eurosceptic and anti-immigration Dutch party Forum for Democracy (FVD) has suffered a new attack. This is in fact not a first for the latter who had already been attacked in Ghent at the end of October. A man hit him violently with an umbrella and the FVD then said it was considering “additional security measures”.

The party informed that it was on its way to the Groningen hospital following this new attack while assuring that “everything will be fine”, reports The newspapaer. For the moment, no information concerning the exact place and time of the attack has been communicated by the FVD. However, videos are circulating on X (formerly Twitter) showing Baudet beaten in a café, probably using a bottle or a glass. He was to attend a meeting in Zwolle this evening. It is not yet certain whether this meeting will take place.

This attack took place as the early parliamentary elections in the Netherlands, organized following the fall of the government of Prime Minister Mark Rutte, take place in two days, on November 22.
