Shortly before 6 p.m. this Sunday, a tragic road accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist. The two-wheeler was traveling on the road from Fosses to Falisolle, when the utility vehicle in front of it started a U-turn at the Calypso restaurant. The motorcycle then hit the van head-on, leaving no chance for its 37-year-old pilot who lives in the region. Michaël B. died instantly.
The roadway was completely closed to traffic. Many emergency services were mobilized on site: two ambulances from the Val de Sambre area, the fire brigade and the Smur de Charleroi. SamSom police were also called to the scene. The driver was slightly injured and taken to the CHRSM d’Auvelais.
An expert dispatched by the prosecution arrived on the scene in the early evening. It was the Fontaine funeral directors who took away the body of the biker.
