A taxi struck pedestrians crossing a crosswalk, killing three people and injuring three others.
At approximately 1:23 p.m. on the 8th, at an intersection in Songjeong-dong, Gwangju, the vehicle driven by Mr. A, a taxi driver in his 60s, violated a traffic signal and collided with a car passing the intersection.
The taxi failed to slow down following the accident and struck pedestrians passing by at a nearby crosswalk.
In this accident, a woman in her 50s died at the scene, and men in their 40s and 60s were taken to the hospital but died.
Mr. A, one taxi passenger, and one car driver suffered minor injuries and are receiving hospital treatment.
Police believe that Mr. A ran a red light, hit a car, and then hit pedestrians crossing the crosswalk with the second car, causing widespread damage.
Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
