FC Bayern is looking hard for a new goalie. After numerous candidates were thrown into the ring by the media, two favorites are now emerging.
According to “Bild”, Georgian Giorgi Mamardashvili (22) from FC Valencia and David Raya (27) from FC Brentford are the focus of Munich. Board boss Jan-Christian Dreesen and Co. are thus concentrating on two comparatively expensive variants. Valencia are likely to demand a substantial fee for their regular goalkeeper Mamardashvili given a contract that runs until 2027. And Brentford doesn’t seem to hold back on Raya either, even if a new number 1 has been brought in with Mark Flekken. After all, the Spaniard’s contract only runs for one more season.
A new goalkeeper is needed at Bayern so that Yann Sommer (34) can make the desired move to Inter Milan.
