The National Crisis Center has activated the federal crisis management phase. The Prime Minister, the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Justice went there to monitor the situation.
The Coordination Body for Threat Analysis (Ocam) has raised the threat level from 2 to 3 on a national scale.
Earlier in the evening, this level had already been raised in the Brussels Region to 4, the highest level, “due to a serious and imminent threat“. “These threat levels will remain in effect until we have more information“, specifies the Crisis Center.
The crisis center also invited Brussels residents to remain vigilant and not leave their homes.
