Throughout the day on Friday, police areas across the country had to face numerous difficulties due to a power outage and work at the federal police headquarters in Brussels, reports Het Laatste Nieuws on its website Friday night.
“Many police zones and integrated police units were affected,” said federal police spokeswoman An Berger. “The agents encountered difficulties when they checked the data of people they were checking.”
Other operations might not take place either, in particular at the airports of Zaventem and Charleroi.
The system was almost fully restored by the evening. “We continue to monitor the situation very closely,” assured Ms. Berger.
