Félix Tshisekedi became clear at an election rally in the eastern Congolese provincial capital of Goma. Paul Kagame, his counterpart in neighboring Rwanda, is behaving like Adolf Hitler, the Congolese head of state complained: “He will also end up like Adolf Hitler.” The reason for the frontal attack was new activities by the rebel force M23, which is presumably supported with weapons and soldiers from Rwanda. Shortly before the elections, their fighters advanced to 35 kilometers from Goma.
