The bodies of a 46-year-old woman and her 17-year-old daughter were discovered dead on Thursday in a house in Kraainem, on the outskirts of Brussels, the Hal-Vilvoorde prosecutor’s office said on Friday. The mother’s companion, aged 50, was arrested.
An investigating judge, seized for homicide, descended on the scene, like a medical examiner and the forensic laboratory.
“An autopsy was performed this followingnoon, the two people appear to have died of stab wounds. They were probably killed on the night of Wednesday to Thursday“, said Carol Vercarre, spokesperson for the prosecution.
The companion of the mother and stepfather of the girl, 50 years old, was arrested Thursday evening and will be heard this Saturday, added the prosecution. He will be confronted with the first results of the investigations. For the moment, all tracks are still kept open, according to the prosecution.
