Fenerbahce concedes a draw against Alanyaspor and lets Galatasaray slip into the lead

Neck to neck with neighbor Galatasaray since the start of the championship, Fenerbahce made a misstep on Sunday by conceding a draw when hosting Alanyaspor (2-2), a match counting for the 25th day of the Süper Lig. Michy Basthuayi and his teammates are now two points behind their neighbor and rival.

The visitors opened the scoring in the first period via Angolan Loide Augusto (12th). Fenerbahce equalized following the locker room on a penalty converted by Dusan Tadic (49th). Edin Dzeko even gave his team the advantage ten minutes later (59th) but Augusto quickly equalized, scoring twice (63rd).

Batshuayi came on in the 72nd minute but did not change the course of the match.

Fenerbahce is second (64 points), far ahead of Besiktas (39) but two units behind the reigning champion Galatasaray (66), winner on Saturday of Basaksehir with a goal from Dries Mertens (2-0). Like Fenerbahce, Galatasaray have only lost one match this season.
