The annual event, transforming the back nine of the golf course into a dazzling winter wonderland, officially opened on November 22nd and will run nightly through December 31st, excluding Christmas Eve. This drive-through Christmas lights display has become a must-see for families across the region, offering a sparkling escape and a dose of holiday cheer.
For the ninth consecutive year, Stone Hedge Golf Course is aglow with an estimated 3 to 4 million lights, according to owner Karen Force Ruark. The 2.5-mile course is adorned with festive displays and classic Christmas scenes, creating an immersive experience for visitors of all ages. The festival has grown significantly since its inception in 2017, evolving into a cherished holiday staple for the community.
Beyond the breathtaking light displays, the Festival of Lights offers a complete holiday experience. Admission to the Festival of Lights is $30 per vehicle Sunday through Thursday and $35 per vehicle on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are available for purchase at the gate, and online sales are not currently offered. Preparing for the festival is a year-round endeavor. The crew at Stone Hedge begins designing and building the displays in January, with the setup process taking approximately seven weeks. Ruark explained that the displays are entirely constructed by the Stone Hedge team, from welding the frames to meticulously attaching the lights.
