Bringing together professionals and amateurs around the same passion. The Fête de la Danse is held in the region on May 12 and 13 in Bienne, then on May 14 in Saignelégier. The program was presented on Friday by officials from Evidanse, which is hosting the event. Cha-cha-cha, break, flamenco, salsa, contemporary dance and even more styles are to be discovered through lessons, workshops, shows and plays for young and old. The Fête de la danse wants to offer a sweet mix between local, regional and national proposals: “It’s a moment in our annual Évidanse program where we can integrate all dance lovers, whether they are on stage or they give courses like the different schools in the region. I love organizing this Fête de la Danse, because I can give space to a lot of projects that are being done in the region,” explains project coordinator Dominique Martinoli.

Among the programming, the managers were able to obtain the presence of the two national projects they coveted, while the Fête de la Danse is held in around thirty cities in Switzerland over the same weekend. This is the aerial dance company öff öff which will present its show Zwischen_Bäumen, a mixture of dance and circus. The second company BeweGrund will perform in duet with their piece Ume-Ume. She received the Federal Dance Prize from the Federal Office of Culture for her inclusive work with artists with disabilities.
