FIFA wants five substitutes per game due to coronavirus | Football

The World Football Association has submitted that proposal to the international rules of the game IFAB.

The temporary measure should apply in 2020 and 2021, due to the outbreak of the corona virus.

Clubs and country teams could take advantage of the new rule. That would mean that participants in the European Championship will also be able to switch five players next summer.

FIFA fears that football players will be charged extra if all competitions are resumed. They will probably have to play more games in a short time next year, with perhaps less vacation. In this way, the risk of injuries increases.
