Fighting Breaks Out on Last TER from Lyon to Villefranche-sur-Saône: Investigation and Police Negligence Revealed

2023-08-20 08:55:00

Thursday evening, the last TER leaves Lyon to reach Villefranche-sur-Saône. But a fight quickly breaks out in a car. In total, around fifteen people, some of whom were visibly drunk, exchanged blows in front of the dumbfounded and/or frightened eyes of the other passengers.

Our colleagues report that some went to get the controller to put an end to the fight, but the latter had locked himself in his cabin.

An announcement on the microphone would then have been made to indicate that the police had been notified and that they would intervene at the Saint-Germain-au-mont-d’Or station. Except that the police never came and the TER resumed its journey to Villefranche.

Arrived in Calade, the warlike groups did it once more. A young man was thus beaten up on the forecourt of the station (1 day of ITT).

An investigation was finally opened following the complaint of this victim. But the police are clear: they were never notified by the SNCF, neither in Saint-Germain in the gendarmerie zone, nor in Villefranche-sur-Saône to pick up the fighters as they got off the train. CCTV images of Part-Dieu and Villefranche might, however, identify some of them.
