9:20 a.m.: A return to school marked by a recruitment crisis
We’ve been talking regarding it for weeks: National Education is facing a major recruitment crisis this fall. Some 4,000 positions have not been filled in the teacher competitions, according to ministry figures, but Pap Ndiaye assured that there will be “a teacher in front of each class” on September 1, next Thursday.
Job-dating, contractual… The ministry uses several tracks to fill the gaps, which is far from satisfying the teacher unions.
