Finland says “kiitos” on the way to NATO – for Sweden it means please wait – Sweden

As early as next week, the border between NATO and Russia is likely to be 1,340 kilometers longer – much to Vladimir Putin’s displeasure. The Russian city of St. Petersburg will be just under 200 kilometers southeast of NATO territory if Finland officially joins the alliance as currently planned.
