Fire at GSC Game World Office: Damage, Evacuation, and Potential Impact on STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl

According to the Prague branch of the crisis management, a fire broke out in the house where the GSC Game World office is located due to an electrical fire. The Vortex website provided more details: one of the three floors occupied by the creators of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl was engulfed in fire. Everyone who was in the building was evacuated, so there were no casualties. However, the fire caused damage in the amount of 1.5 million crowns (approximately 6.5 million rubles) and damaged important office equipment of the studio. It is reported that servers with backup data were located on this floor. It is still unknown whether the incident will affect the process of work on the new part of the Stalker series. GSC Game World itself has not yet commented on the news. Let us remind you that the release of the game was recently postponed to 2024.
