Fire in prison!
A person died in the night of Friday in a cell fire at the Tegel correctional facility. That said a fire department spokesman in the early morning of the German press agency.
The fire broke out on the fourth floor of an eight-story building. The fire department found a lifeless person on site.
The fire department was alerted at 3.09 a.m. and was on site with around 50 emergency services. The fire was extinguished relatively quickly. According to the fire department, 21 people were saved. The cause of the fire was initially not known.
As usual in such cases, officers from the State Criminal Police Office started the investigation.
