This July 18 around 2 a.m., the firefighters and the Brussels North Police Zone were called for vehicles on fire at Avenue Albert Giraud in Schaerbeek. In all, three vehicles were destroyed by the flames, one vehicle was slightly damaged and two facades were damaged by the burning vehicles.
The explosion sounds are related to these burning vehicles. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control. Law enforcement secured the security perimeter.
The prosecution ordered the raid of the scientific laboratory of the Federal Police on the scene. The investigation is ongoing to determine the causes and circumstances of this fire and, if necessary, to identify the perpetrators.
