Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Justice Aamir Farooq heard the petition against slow internet speed and installation of firewall in the country, advocate Iman Mazari appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Amir Farooq inquired that the internet has become slow these days. Before we issue an order, let us know what actually happened. Objections to the application against installation of firewall and internet shutdown, fixed for hearing
The Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court inquired who should be called from among the Secretary, Joint Secretary, to which lawyer Iman Mazari replied that we request that the senior officials of the concerned ministries be called.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq said that he will be called who knows about the matter and can brief the court.
Later, the Islamabad High Court issued notices to the parties and sought their response till Monday and adjourned the hearing of the case.
Yesterday, the court removed the objections of the registrar’s office on the application against the slowness of internet and the installation of firewall and fixed it for hearing on the appeal. During the hearing, the Chief Justice said that ‘three objections will be considered on the judicial side, while the fourth objection is related to the use of inappropriate language in the application.’
On this, lawyer Iman Mazari said that he has attached only X’s post in which inappropriate language was not used. He requested to schedule the hearing the next day. Later, the court removed the objections to the application and directed to fix the case for Tuesday (today).
It should be noted that Minister of State for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja had expressed ignorance about the installation of firewall in Pakistan.

He requested in the petition that the installation of firewalls affecting the fundamental rights of citizens should be stopped, the installation of firewalls should be made subject to consultation of all stakeholders and protection of fundamental rights and access to the Internet for livelihood. It should be declared as fundamental human rights under the constitution.
