Floods in northeastern Australia, hundreds of people evacuated – World Chronicle

Cairns – Heavy rainfall following tropical storm “Jasper” continues to keep the northeast of Australia in suspense. According to Australian media, the coastal city of Cairns in Queensland was cut off from the surrounding area. Hundreds of people have been rescued from the flood areas by boats and helicopters. More than 300 people were evacuated on Monday night alone, Queensland state police said.
