FLorian Zöchling conquers Europe! In Strasbourg, Alsace, the Pyhra native won gold in the U-21 kata competition and bronze in the general class on Saturday.
The world association organized a European Cup competition in Wadokai karate in Strasbourg (FRA) at the weekend and Florian Zöchling (Union Mugendo Pyhra) delivered a top performance. Supervised by coaches Monika Schulte and Austria’s Wadokai association president Alexandru Hevesi, he was in a class of his own with the cadets (U21). Zöchling won safely ahead of a Northern Irishman and a Swede and also climbed onto the podium in third place among the adults. “Florian is a great promise for the future,” assures Hevesi, who still expects a lot from his protégé.
