Flughafen Zurich Passenger and Aircraft Movement Update 2023: Exceeding Targets and Recovery Projections

Zurich (awp) – Flughafen Zurich saw 28.9 million passengers pass through the Kloten tarmac in 2023, an increase of almost 30% over one year. Attendance is still 8% lower than in 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic.

The operator is delighted to have exceeded its targets of 26 million passengers for the past year. A complete recovery of attendance is still expected in 2025, according to the press release published Monday evening.

In 2023, 247,456 aircraft movements were recorded, i.e. a gain of 14% in annual comparison but down 10% compared to the 2019 level. Flughafen Zürich counted 377,998 tonnes of freight, i.e. a decline 10% over one year and 16% compared to 2019.
