For $3.1 billion, a Ghanaian businessman offers to buy Chelsea

According to media reports, Ghanaian businessman Bernard Antwi has made an offer to buy Chelsea Football Club, for $3.1 billion.

Egyptian businessman Lotfi Mansour denied his desire to buy Chelsea, and Jim Ratcliffe, Britain’s richest man, also withdrew from the race, as Abramovich faces having to cut his price of 3 billion pounds, which is required to be obtained to sell the London club.

This comes following the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, the owner of the London club, announced his intention to sell his club following nearly 19 years of owning it.

In a statement on the club’s website, Abramovich said he had made a “very difficult and painful decision”. He explained that the sale will be donated to the victims of the war in Ukraine.

Abramovich is believed to have close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, something the Chelsea owner denies.

While many in Britain called for sanctions once morest the famous billionaire following Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine.
